METHUSELAH SANDS: THE MARTIAN CHRONICLE
Just in time, on the Cosmonauts' Day which is most widely celebrated in Russia (although it's a memorable day for all Mankind), the Decembered project happens to present its 'new' work.
A couple of months ago we have announced that the project is frozen due to creative crisis. And indeed there was one; probably it's still here.
This 'album' isn't quite new work. Details follow:
A couple of years ago a small game development studio started working on a innovative project, quite strange, but very promising. It could be described as survival adventure of sort, with a lot of boons regargind both graphics, gameplay and total impression.
It was a story about a group of first colonists travelling to Mars, those had lost all contacts with Earth (since, actually, Mars appeared to exist in its own reality) and had to cope with all consequent troubles in order to survive.
As the project development was nearing its presumably successful end, the studio approached us to write a music score for their game, - a task we had gladly taken.
Everything looked quite rosy abouth the project, and we all went extremely enthusiastic, when a major game publisher offered to buy the whole studio.
Next something extremely strange happened: when the project went beta, the publishing company shut it down, and the studio as well, firing most of the team members. There were rumours that technologies, developed by this team finally landed in a sport simulator, or some even more 'faceless' franchise regularly updated by this publishing company.
Anyway, despite their efforts to claim the soundtrack we provided as their property, we secured our rights for it. And now put some most successful (from the composers' point of view, of course) works online for free download.
Here are the selected tracks of those we have managed to produce before that project's demise.
